Ingredients
  

Main Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp ketchup or tomato paste optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese & Buns

  • 4 –6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 –6 hoagie rolls or hamburger buns toasted

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of oil and sauté the onions and bell pepper until soft, about 4–5 minutes. Add garlic during the last 30 seconds.
  • Push vegetables to the side of the skillet and add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and optional ketchup or tomato paste. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened slightly.
  • Lay provolone slices over the beef and allow to melt. Stir gently to combine.
  • Toast buns in a pan or under the broiler until golden.
  • Spoon meat mixture onto the toasted buns and serve immediately.
